Easter Sunday started with an Egg hunt and there were eggs all around the house and in the garden. It took our son a good 1hr to find all of them – some by accident – like in his shoes and his coat pockets.
My wife was working until ~2pm and once home went out for a bike ride which meant by the time we got home it was dinner time.
Easter Monday was the only day we all were off therefore we went to Cheddar Gorge. If you ever in the area, it’s worth a visit.
Much better than Wookey Hole where we went last year and it was terrible. Apart from the cave system everything is dated and not really kept up-to-date.
Cheddar Gorge has several attractions and – of course – cheese. The main cave – Cough’s Cave – currently had a fairy trail which was fantastic. Find the seven fairies, collect the underscored letters, and solve the anagram at the end to get a prize.
They also have a pre-history museum, another cave (Cox Cave), Jacob’s Ladder (steep 275 steps to the top with a lookout) and various climbing activities.
Out all day meant we got home around 6pm (having left around 9.30am), did the leftovers from the day before and watched “The bad guys” on Netflix which was a new release.
My wife then was back to work yesterday. As it was Tuesday it was also tennis lesson at 4pm for our son. Which meant not an all-day out thing.
We ended up going to Fyne Court – one of the local national Trust properties – for an Easter trail with our neighbour and their kids.
Boy, it was muddy and wet. We met some of our sons’ classmates and their parents there as they are all probably winding down from a busy Easter weekend.
Back from Fyne Court I was looking after one of our neighbours’ children as they were checking out a new child minder as their second child is only 12 weeks old. All in preparation for going back to work in the summer.
Going to tennis at 4pm it was just hammering down with rain. All of Easter had been a washout regarding the weather.
Not a lot of kids there – only 4 – so their training was much better than usual – I thought. Less kids means more attentions to their individual skills.
Interestingly on the other court were 3 of our sons’ other county players receiving some coaching. Observing them I thought they were much better than our son which was confirmed when I relayed my observations to my wife in the evening.
Today, Dunster Castle visit with some of our other friends and their kids. Followed by a trip to Minehead which is at the seaside.
Then tonight I have a works leaving do as our junior doctors rotate and some of our registrars are rotating as well.
Table booked for 6.30pm which means that one of our neighbours is babysitting our son until my wife is back from work.
